2. Is Liberty Money Transfer Legitimate?

  Liberty Money Transfer is a legitimate company registered with the United States Department of Treasury as a Money Service Business, and licensed by the IL Department of Financial & Professional Regulation. License number MT157.

As part of the requirements to gain license, Liberty Transfer posted money in the form of an insurance bond with the State of Illinois. This was to ensure that if a sender’s remittance does not reach his or her destination due to any fraudulent activity on the part of the Company, the sender gets a full refund. This means the sender sending money has nothing to lose!
3. How can I send money through Liberty Transfer?
  You can send money through Liberty Transfer in 3 ways:
 a. By going online to www.libertytransfer.com
 b. By calling our toll free number at 1-800-357-5837
 c. By sending a text message from your mobile phone to 312-731-2294 with just the amount and the recipient’s mobile number

Anyway, you still pay a flat fee of $6.95 for your transaction. There is a onetime setup fee of $4.75 for first time users. This fee is for address and identity verification.
4. How long does it take for recipients in Ghana to receive their money?

 

If you pay with a check or credit card, your money transfer will be made available within 24 hours. Most times, it is way less than 12 hours.
5. Where can recipients pick up their money?
  Recipients of money transfer can pick up their money at any of Ghana Commercial Bank branches or Merchant Bank branches and its affiliate banks (APEX branches) throughout Ghana.
6. Do recipients need a bank account to collect money?
  No. Recipients of money transfer do not need a bank account at any of our banking partners to pick up remittance. However, recipients who have bank accounts with either Ghana Commercial Bank or Merchamnt Bank can have their money transfer deposited directly into their bank accounts. This way, recipients save the time of going to the bank.
7. Why is your service fee so low as compared to your competitors?
  Liberty Money Transfer runs on a very efficient technological platform, which reduces our cost of operation. Unlike other money transfer services, we pass on the savings to our customers in the form of low fees. We don’t spend a lot on marketing, raffles and other expensive advertising. We believe a good service and word of mouth will do the work. A good product should speak for itself.
8. How long does a typical money transfer take?

 

For first time users, it takes a bit longer as we need to register you and verify your address and identity. This process takes about 10 minutes. If you are paying by check, we need to verify the authenticity of the check as well. After that subsequent transfers take less than 90 seconds.
9. Why do I need to register?
  Liberty Transfer requires senders of money transfer to be registered before sending money. This allows for faster future processing of your money transfer and identity verification. Furthermore, by registering, you can always log on to your profile to view all past money transfers.
